Mis sueños son irrenunciables, obstinados, testarudos y resistentes
the new album, in vinyl and digital
Noise of Trouble’s album’s title “Mis sueños son irrenunciables, obstinados, testarudos y resistentes” was inspired by Luis Sepulveda
A statement declaration for an album recorded during spring 2020’s lockdown which highly
influenced the creative process forcing the musician to adopt new solutions, in a moment where
improvisation and interplay with other musicians were impossibile, and at the same time there was
the intention of creating a work with contributions form others. It’s music of Resistance.
“Rethinking the many facets of the world outside my home, it came natural to put together the
sound of my instruments, the rhythms I’m carrying inside and a compositional organization which
found a comparison and stimulating lymph in between distanced interventions for a music which in
my head is hybrid, poetic, undeniable.” This is how Marco Colonna describes his work, “sometimes
musical scores for clarinet ensembles might lead to a free and furious duo, sometimes I’m getting
involved with an hip hop singer… it then happens to chase and build all the sounds running in your
head such as in “Paperbox” in which the drums have been played both in paper and metal boxes or
following the counterpoint and melodic manipulation of an essential track such as “El derecho de
vivir en paz” by Victor Jara. I opened the window, imagining a world more respectful on human
life’s behalf, and I tried to put those feelings into music, together with amazing people which did not
permit to lockdown to overcome their capabilities to work with others.”
The album is a creative explosion where there are no borders between jazz, electronica, live
sampling or music instruments from different traditions.

Marco Colonna Biography:
A personal path, a unique style drove Marco Colonna to become one of the most unique Italian
musicians of his generation, and since 2015 his name started appearing on the Year-End
charts ofMusica Jazz and other magazines or websites, named as one of the best woodwind players
of thecountry nonetheless, since 2017 he’s placed in the top ten of the best Italian jazz
musicians. Born in 1978 in Rome, he’s active as multi-instrumentalist, composer, improviser and
writer but in the last years he chose to dedicate himself to bass clarinet, to explore all the
possibilities of this instrument, even playing two or three instruments simultaneously, inspired by
the works of Roland Kirk, to whom is dedicated the Rashaan trio with Ettore Fioravanti and
Eugenio Colombo.
Marco Colonna joined Roberto Ottaviano’s Eternal Love and recorded an album with Zeno De
Rossi, Giovanni Maier and Alexander Hawkins, released on Dodici Lune label. The group
received great feedbacks by the critics and was featured in different Year-End charts both as
album both as ensemble. He took part to Unit by Stefano Giust and Evan Parker, a concert and a
record featuring Alberto Novello, Giorgio Pacorig, Martin Mayes, Patrizia Oliva and Michele
Anelli,released via Setola di Maiale.
In September 2019 he performed a solo set at Basilica di San Gaudenzio, in Novara (Italy), during the European Jazz Conference and then took part to the African tour of Federica Michisanti Horn Trio, arranged by La Casa Del Jazz (Rome).
Marco Colonna is still active as writer and he was commissioned a book to be released by Blonk
publishing in 2020, entitled “E mio padre mi disse che non ero normale – breve cronaca di un
pensiero artistico indipendente”. In March 2020 he released a new album for bass clarinet and
electronics “Fili” dedicated to Maria Lai.He’s working on new material for his ensemble, Noise Of
Trouble and on new projects with Izumi Kimura, Fabrizio Spera and Alexander Hawkins.
Noise Of Trouble: In 2009 Marco Colonna founded Noise Of Trouble together with Luca Corrado, baritone guitar and
Cristian Lombardi, drums, a line-up that combines punk aggression and noise, political commitment
and research.
Noise of Trouble developed in ten-years activity which experimented different
languages in more than ten releases, always aiming to find new syntheses between languages and
medias, exciting collaborations such as those with the poet Alberto Masala, the rapper RD (member
of the historic Sardinian group of the Stranos Elementos), the experimental director Leonardo
Carrano and the photographer Alessandro Lisci.
